After her life goes awry, Yoon Hye-jin, an accomplished dentist from Seoul, goes to the idyllic seaside village of Gongjin on her mother’s birthday, where she spontaneously decides to open up a dental clinic, and gets to know jack-of-all-trades Du-sik, also known as Chief Hong. Hye-jin then goes to a party to promote the clinic but accidentally gossips about Oh Cheon-jae in a room where the microphone is on, which leaves a bad impression in the whole village’s eyes. Pyo Mi-seon, who is Hyejin’s best friend, also moves in with Hyejin and helps out at the clinic.

Du-sik constantly helps Hye-jin to fit in. They also persuade Kim Gam-ri, who initially refuses treatment, to get a dental implant. As Du-sik and Hye-jin grow closer and share a kiss while drunk, Hye-jin decides to stop getting involved with Du-sik. Ji Seong-hyeon (also called PD Ji), Hye-jin’s collegemate, visits Gongjin to produce a TV program. He convinces Gam-ri to let him use her house as a film set.
